Which Fret Saw?

    They both equally suck…only good thing is they will replace them when they dull… i make a good 3-4 guitars a month & although i use a table saw blade to slot I need the hand saw to adjust after radius so they go dull pretty quick & both dull about the same. get the cheaper one if you have to choose…

    Which kinds of jobs ? Refrets or new fret jobs on new builds ?

        What ever you use, make sure they cut on the pull. Whether it’s a full saw or a partial saw for bound boards. Easier to control and with bound boards, less chance you’re going to push the binding off when you’re cleaning the slot.

        Most saws, with some effort, can be turned into pull saws too, but if you’re just buying them, just get pull. Japanese, I believe, are always pull.

    Ian brings up a great point of distinction as to what your needs are for it. In general, I personally tend to prefer Japanese saws over western, though I do keep both around for different tasks.
