Hello! First time poster, long time lurker…
I thought you guys might get a kick out of this. I got fed up of having to re-mount my workbench lid after pulling it off a particularly bumpy/cold/hot/anything truck ride and began searching for a mounting system that would hold everything up when the lid was open, but also crucially not fall off when it was closed after the show.
I happened upon multiboard, which looked like it could do the job but at first I wasn’t having much success. In fact, for v1 I simply mounted the base plates & snaps and used cable ties to hold everything up which actually worked fine – it just wasn’t very easy on the eyes.
More recently, I found out about Multi Connect and, crucially, Underware (https://handsonkatie.com/underware-2-0-the-made-to-measure-collection/#how-to). The explainer video might be the single cringiest thing ever to grace the internet, but the system is fantastic, so it’s a small price to pay.
Anyway, here‘s a WIP photo of v2, now complete with item holders. I still need to finish the cable management & some other small tidying bits, but unfortunately, the bench is in a shipping container somewhere on the Atlantic, so it’ll have to wait.
Happy to answer any questions/help point anyone interested in doing something similar in the right direction!

Ah yeah, this is the multiboard inventor guy is it not? I’ve watched a load of his videos trying to understand the system as best as I could – he could really do with simplifying how he demonstrates it haha
So I’m using Underware item holders made using this parametric modellor on Makerworld – <font face=”inherit”>https://makerworld.com/en/models/783010-underware-2-0-infinite-cable-management?from=search#profileId-1504508</font>. Connected using these multiconnect points – <font face=”inherit”>https://makerworld.com/en/models/790825-raised-multiconnect-connector-for-multiboard-v2?from=search#profileId-735507</font>.
Very annoyingly, I printed the flush multivconnect points first, only to realise the snaps used to mount the board to the bench were raised!

Sadly not a lot of photos yet, I’m hilariously bad at documenting builds like this. Will get some as soon as I’m back at the bench next month! Anythign in particular you want to see?
