I found some of those swing psychrometers in an old box at Taylor and laughed.
But then got schooled on how accurate they are!!!
I’m adding a couple of these hygrometers you recommended to the shop. Thanks!

My most accurate hygrometer is the little analogue humidor one from amazon. I have a swing psychrometer to check them against. THis one even has an adjustment slot on the back (under the PSA mounting foam). https://a.co/d/igY4qbA

Dropped my old crappy digital hygrometer. What are the hive’s recommendations for a trustworthy one? I’m leaning towards an analogue one like the StewMac one but am open to suggestions.

Storage rug/cushion suggestions
Yesterday a friend and I built this wall mounted cabinet for repairs that are drying or need to get out of the way. Does anyone have suggestions for material to pad the shelf bottoms with?
I’ve used carpet in the past but am curious what others use. Thanks!

Maybe a dull topic but I just happened to find this Conn Strobotuner at an antique shop for a “decent” price. Works great, not sure if I’ll use it in place of the peterson strobe app on my ipad but in conjunction for certain jobs .
What do you all use as your main bench tuner?

What size do I need for gluing acoustic bridges (5″? 6″?) and is there cost effective source for these?
Thx!

Paul, no I haven’t. Everything seems to be on the money if I do my part and enter the correct info. Thanks

Sounds like you got it figured out but have you trammed your machine in general? Sometimes some stepper motor calibration is really needed.
Mine was off by like 1/16″ in the Y axis over 36″ which was subtle enough not to notice but totally screwed me for doing very fine work. Took me 2 years to figure it out.

For like $400 or maybe less you can find Sherlines everywhere. The most I use mine the more it seems like the perfect luthier’s shop tool. I got a lathe and mill and a ton of accessories for $800, definitely a steal but they are out there.
