Thanks! It’s hard to believe I’ve been a member for 2 years, but I have rarely participated or even checked the group. Working 9-10 hours per day and working on guitars until bedtime doesn’t leave much time for anything else. I was VERY busy with Yamaha work for 1 solid year, until June, when it started to be too painful to continue. Shoulder surgery on 9/3 has been very successful, so far, although a full recovery is 6-12 months..

Last night I removed a neck for the first time in over 6 months!! https://yamahavintagefg.boards.net/thread/612/1958-59-silvertone-620?page=1&scrollTo=7129 The neck wiggling was tiring, but no pain. And I should have used the heat sticks, but I was just hot to get that thing off!! Next is removing the frets and replacing the binding. After I finish this one, I’ll remove the neck of one of my FG’s, to see if I’m ready for customer work.

Hi Dave. Yes, such a great resource which I’ve used. Hey, do you have measurements you could donate to the neck reset data base?

I have some SolidWorks 3D models of a few neck joints. What’s a good file format? It helps to have an assembly and parts to be able to see how they fit together.

I’m virtually useless when it comes to computer stuff. Maybe Ian can help with the file downloads? I’m sure the info you give would be greatly appreciated.
