Hello!
I have an Ovation CP-100 pickup. Its unsoldered and I can’t seem to get the pickup to work again.
There wasn’t a spacer either. Which doesn’t make sense because if the hot is soldered to the copper strip and the ground to the housing channel, it would just ground out.
Any experience getting these back together?

I’ve messed with them. The spacer is key and so is the “interegrated” saddle. Pick up won’t work without them. The best advice I can give is to get a whole new set up. There’s a guy on eBay who still has oem parts. They don’t make cream anymore but you can still get black. Way cheaper then hassling with everything. You can get the spacer, pick up and saddle.

You can also use a Takamine pick up but from what I understand, they are slightly different in size. The guy is very knowledgeable and you can contact him through eBay.

That guy has knowledge and is very responsive to communication. Great resource as a lot of people still play the Ovations.

I know many of us have “opinions” about Ovations, but I have clients that love the heck out of their Ovations so its good to know theres a dude out there with the parts.
