How do you wet sand/even out a laquer finish on a maple neck with the frets installed before finishing?

I use a set of three small blocks (similar in size to the tolex flat toleblock) that have a matching radius to the fingerboard on one edge and then attached a small piece of 3M Stikit sandpaper.
Each block is a different size to accommodate the decreasing space between frets. If you don’t feel comfortable making these blocks by hand, grab a 4″ radius block and cut into sections for your scale length.
