Jester W160 neck joint
This is an early 80’s Jester. The only identification is the label inside which appears to show the model number as ACW160, though I’ve only seen reference to model W160 online. There is scant information about Jester guitars online, and some of it seems inconsistent. This was most likely made in either Holland or Romania. Online information indicated that this would have a dowelled neck joint, but it clearly doesn’t.
This was a very difficult neck removal. As you can see, the holes I drilled in the 15th fret slot missed the dovetail completely. The dove is very narrow and only tapers about 1mm over its 90 mm length. I started out using only heat and ended up adding some water. The white glue was very gummy and tenacious, making disassembly very difficult. The was a thin shim on one side of the dovetail slot.
EDIT: for some reason I can’t seem to include photos with this post.
