Some pics of the inside. Pretty sure this is at least partially wrong… The two green wires coming out of the neck and middle are tied together and go nowhere, the red and green wires from the humbucker are swapped, and the bare wire from the humbucker is not attached to anything. I am not sure about the capacitor and ground situation either – the wiring diagram has just one tone pot and one volume pot while this obviously has two tone pots.

    I figured it out!

I stared at this other diagram and my pictures for what had to be an hour… https://d2emr0qhzqfj88.cloudfront.net/s3fs-public/2023-08/Strat%20Stacked%20Hum%20Canceling%20Wiring.pdf

I saw this diagram has the neck and middle pickups’ green wires going to ground and the red wires going to the switches. Regardless of red/green – one of them had to go to ground and I had nothing.

So I thought I should at least connect those two missing pieces to ground:

    1. Solder a connection from the humbucker’s bare wire to ground

    2. Solder a connection from the neck and middle pickups’ green wires to ground

Went to go plan my attack and that’s when I saw some excess solder and what was obviously wire left behind… These had already been tied to ground – it just came undone.

Holding the wires in place with my hands and… it worked like I expected a 5 way to work. Quick patch and solder job and now on to the next step 😀

Yes – this is how the guitar came to me. I am likely going to do a full re-wire but wanted to be sure it was all working first
