Hi looths ! I return to a repair of a personal project. It had a crude end grain break, which was previously messed up with, so I cleaned one part of the break and glued everything back with epoxy. The plan was to excavate the wood from the sides and behind the break, then to add new wood, sandwiching the trussrod.
Now that I’ve discovered the carbon fiber sheet repair, I wonder if it could be a good candidate for that, or if it’d first need more wood ? Or an other solution altogether ?

Was that routed out and then glued a mahogany insert?

Hey guys ! Sorry I didn’t see you answers earlier ! From the other side you can’t see anything, the break is after the nut, and from now there is no piece of wood grafted. The mess you see is just 1/ the headstock part with smashed end fibers 2/ the neck part where fibers have been cut to make space for the repair and align everything properly 3/ a lot of epoxy.
