Gibson Hummingbird pickguard?
Would I be right in guessing this guard is an aftermarket job? It seems to have a stiff clear acrylic underlay (for want of a better word) – the guard itself is very flimsy and just doesn’t look right? I don’t have a lot of experience with this so would appreciate those with more commenting…

That looks like late 90s early 00s factory guard. They were like those puffy stickers. Pretty gross.
I would do a test, but probably the best way to get them back down is contact cement and force. Also, I think some hard plastic alternatives are out there on the internet if you want to replace with a better option.

Thanks Ian…yeah it is really gross…that’s why I thought (silly me) it “couldn’t be a Gibson factory guard”…haha. You’re pretty spot on re: the time period….cheers, Steve
