    Hey dude, is that a decal or an inlay ?

      Are you talking about the Taylor logo? If so, it appears it might be inlay. It doesn’t feel raised up around it at all and I don’t see any edges like around a slide decal or something like that.

        I’d hit that ding with naptha and see what it looks like. If it disappears, I’d hit it with fill n finish thin, level it and then overcoat with the appropriate sheen lacquer, probably in Ultra Bond from Mohawk.

        If the spot gets dark, or the white halo doesn’t disappear, I’d carefully sand the original finish down to bare wood and respray with the appropriate sheen lacquer.

          Wow, thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it! I will take a stab at it. Well, I pretty much have to since I’m the idiot that caused the dent 😅

  • Yes, that’s an inlayed logo. The Mohawk Perfect Blend M102-0720 Matte 19-23 sheen is what we used in the factory to repair the flat finishes.
