This 60’s Gibson LG0 mahogany came in with a little bit of the finish scraped off just to the right of the bridge as you can see. I’m curious if anybody has any tips on how to touch this up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Man, you are most of the way there. Looks like to pore filler is still in the pores. Are you sure this finish wasn’t pulled off with tape?
Anyway, it looks like you just need to add a little yellow and some kind of diffusing agent to mute the pop of the freshly exposed wood. Perhaps a little matte lacquer with some yellow and a teensy bit of black.
That’s good to hear. It was scraped off with a razor knife. What kind of defusing agent would you use? I guess this means I’m going to have to invest in a spray gun rig. Was going to happen at some point anyway.
