Is the X brace loose in any other spots. Like at the bridge plate ? You might have to push on the top to find out.

@ianloothgroup-com Many thanks for the consult on this.
Any other experiences with a similar repair? Also any thoughts on whether the braces on this 1966 guitar were glued with hide glue or other?
I’m still scratching my head about the root cause of the problem. There are some white mineral deposits inside the top going in a couple of inches…

Need advice on my first repair job
I’m planning to start it on Friday. Unfortunately the Stewmac epoxy i ordered came from a bad batch and didn’t cure properly on testing, so I had to abandon that one. I did however manage to find West epoxy in Europe from a boating supply store in Hamburg. Explore epoxy resins & hardeners now | TOPLICHT. It should be arriving tomorrow!

My usual trick is to shove carbon rod down the square tube, but this chap is adamant he wants a proper truss rod installed. And he’s willing to pay, more importantly. He also wants it converted to a cutaway, but first things first.
Anyone experienced in this area willing to offer a bit of guidance?

Looking for some advice on a repair for a 1966 Guild F20. The guitar top is significantly depressed (bowl shaped) around the sound hole. This is due to both upper x-braces being cracked as they tuck under the purfling. Also, the bridge is starting to pull off. Any suggestions on sequence of actions? Specifically, should I try to flatten the…

Just one string buzz from 1-12 even with really hi action.
Thanks Ian! It’s a brand new guitar, client contact the dealership and it’s in process to return and get other one.
I really want to open and understand why this happened, not know why it’s a big bummer, all of 3 have a fingerboard. But first 2 don’t have a 2 way truss rod. Maybe the next owner let me do it or sell me the neck!
But one…
