Los Angeles Area Looth to take on Martin Neck reset
Hey y’all,
I’m looking for a looth in the Los Angeles area to take on a Martin neck reset.
I took it in from a friend but I don’t have enough practice doing neck resets and would like to refer it to someone who knows Martins well.
Who would you guys recommend?
Thanks

I’d really appreciate that. Should I DM you for a time to do that?

Ok. Did a refret on a MIM Fender Strat maple neck. Some of the finish came off (was careful AF but….)
It is not lacquer but I assume a poly finish. New lacquer did not meld.
Can/should I use a tinted CA fix? Any tips, color recipes?
Any help would be appreciated. VERY appreciated.
Thanks

Les Paul Cherry neck: Touch-up or refinish?
Thanks Al,
I use the FNF liquids, but not powdered stain. I’d welcome a 1-on-1 if you’re game. Whatsapp works well (+1-253-376-0116). I’m on Pacific time.
Looking forward to talking!

Sorry… I missed this comment earlier. I am pretty sure SilverTip is more of a finish / pore filling epoxy than an adhesive. YMMV.

Les Paul Cherry neck: Touch-up or refinish?
Have you used the Fill N Finish powder stains? When used with the ultra thin FNF, its not too hard to “sneak up” on the actual color by doing layers of lighter color that eventually get you to the right tint. a little red, a very little black, a little brown, more red, etc. it gets painted on with art cotton swabs that look like q tips, or…

Les Paul Cherry neck: Touch-up or refinish?
The neck on this Epiphone Les Paul was repaired by the local Guitar Center, but they left it ragged and the customer asked me to fix the finish. It appears to be very thick poly (not lacquer) and the crack has some glue left over from the repair. I would love to be able to just fill and finish the cracks, but I’m afraid it will be…

Covered versus uncovered humbucker A/B testing
I’ve been given the results of this. I’ve also got hold of the tracks that were used in the listening poll. So, rather than just posting the results and correct answers, I added the info to a post at the link below. That way, folks can have a listen for themselves before seeing the answers/results.…
