Tracing and Transferring Cavity Covers
Wondering what methods people use for tracing the shape of a cavity to make new covers, backplates, or switch-plates? Attaching a photo example of a battery cavity that’s missing a cover and wondering what the best way would be to trace and reference the size so I can transfer it to a cardboard cutout and eventually cut a piece of wood to cover the cavity?

I had a wild idea, and I would love to be talked off the ledge before I try it. I’ve seen some acetone vaporizers used in headlight repair, and the thought occurred to me that the concept could possibly work for blending poly finish with Ca (fill and finish) to lessen witness lines without sanding.
The idea would be to fill the finish chips…

This is just a rant against the Stew-mac touchup pens. Ive just never had them functionally work, without creating more of an issue than there was in the first place.
Through an “act of god” I chipped a small bit of freshly buffed and polished laquer off the headstock of a Taylor that I refinished. The guitar had that nasty bubbling around…

What touring tech topics would interest you looths?
Hello all, new member here. I’ve been working as a touring tech for 20 years and just noticed this section of the forum was empty, so I figured I’d give it a kick. National Triolian - Fishman Resophonic/Lipstick pickup rewiring
Hey everyone. I’m trying to figure out a wiring scheme for a modded National Triolian resonator guitar. It has a Fishman Resophonic end pin jack pickup (link to that is below) as well as a lipstick pickup that was installed along with a three way switch, and two potentiometers.
Essentially what I’d like to do is wire it so there is one volume…

Can anyone shed light on the “high clarity” options that Bjorn offers? I’m looking for an all around glue for most applications, just wondering if there is benefit to the HC options?

tuners for 70s Martin D12-20 12-string
I’ve got a 70s Martin D12-20 12-string on my bench (slotted headstock), it needs new tuners – the original tuners have several bent worms. The only 6-on-a-plate tuners I can find are the Golden Age from StewMac. The spacing looks right, but the Golden Age posts are about 1/8-inch shorter according to the specs on StewMac, 1-inch vs the 1…
