Size of grub screw on stewmac fret jaws
I bought a used stewmac Fret Jaws but the black part that holds the fret inserts is missing the screw. I think it should be an Allen head grub screw. Does anyone know the size of that screw so I can get a replacement? Thanks.

1966 Epiphone Sorrento neck reset
The back of the neck pocket is under the 15th fret slot. Holes are drilled 3/8″ from the outside edge of the fret board. Check out Ted Wordford’s video at for extensive work he did on a ’63 Sorrento.

A little trick to handle small laqcuer chips
Evrybody knows it. Guitar dropped and ….chips. Often it can be fixed easily but very often you need the color. In my case it was a Jackson with a metallic red. I had all the chips but how to handle. Tweezer were no option. The chips flipped away.
I used a small sewing needle. I’ve flattened the tip using some sandpaper on the workbench. Then…

I had a client dropped off his Suhr JM Classic for a pot replacement yesterday. The fretboard extension hangs over the pickguard on these a little so I flipped it over to loosen the neck screws a tad. I found what looked like 3 missing neck screws and only one screwed in place. The one screwed in place was bright and shiny. I removed that…

Double Humbuckers - Schematic?
Friends, I am looking for a wiring schematic that shows how to set up 2 humbuckers, each with their own Volume pot — no Tone in this circuit. Everything I have has some type of Tone control in the circuit. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Howie Dewin started the discussion Fretboard hump above fret #12 in the forum Acoustic Repair 7 months ago
Is it a common problem for the fretboard on an acoustic to develop a hump around Fret #12 and higher, where the neck meets the body? If so, what is the cause, and is there something that can be done, or avoided, during the initial build process?
I have two quality Zager brand guitars that both have the problem, with the problem being worse on… Read more

In the process of evaluating the repairs needed on this guitar I checked to see if the truss rod was working. There is hole in the transverse brace where you would normally insert a truss rod, but all I see is the end of a metal bar with a smallish hole in the center. I tried several allen wrenches that would fit in the hole, but nothing seems…

Got a 60’s Hofner bass coming in that is noisy and feeds back (according to the owner). Thoughts on why? Any chance taking out the control plate screws could be an issue?
