Good morning everyone. Looking for some help finding/achieving a color.
I have a customer that wants an Olive Drab Translucent matte finish. I usually just do nitro matte finishes over natural or stained woods, or the occasional oil rubbed finish. Colors are not something I’ve messed with too much yet.
I have found some nitro that is opaque OD, but am having a hard time sourcing something non-opaque that will still get dark enough.

This is pure speculation, but I would guess that this finish was produced with lightly mixed pigments rather than dye. There is a white component to this color that could be produced, maybe, with a yellow green dye mixed into matte lacquer, but that seems like a long shot. If I have time, I might run some tests.
