Acrylic touch up paints?

After installing purfling and bindings I noticed a black dot on one of the maple lines— and right at the florentine point! It’s not sanding out. Bummer. As I get close to finish prep does anyone have recommendations on acrylic touch up paint SKUs that work well with maple? These maple purflings happen to be from Gurian Instruments, for what that’s worth.

Also, if anyone has an idea of what this dot is and how it got there I’d love to hear your take.

Is it a break in the white purfling? I’ve snapped purfling installing it before and not realised until I scraped it back.

Yes. In fact, that is precisely what it appears to be. Hmm. Any recommendations?

That could be touched up for sure, I would scrape down a little, just on the broken purf, so that the touch up is not proud of the surface. Then use pigments with a shellac binder. I would say mixol white with just a miniscule amount of brown, yellow, and possible just the teensiest amount of red. I would perhaps also use fine line tape when applying the color. If you don’t feel like buying fine line tape specifically, you could use electrical tape in a pinch.

Also, Jeff Jewitt goes over this in this segment.
