Hey everyone! I’m finishing up my latest build and looking for help with the wiring. It’s a 3-pickup configuration with a standard 3-position toggle switch. The plan is for 3 pots: master volume, master tone, and a volume just for the middle pickup (as a blend so that it can be added in any position). The 3-way toggle will be a standard Neck – [Neck + Bridge] – Bridge. I looked through @gerryhayes ‘ excellent book and didn’t find anything that quite matched what I’m after, but I’m fairly confident this is a doable and not complicated layout to accomplish. Thanks!

    Hey Gabby

Scribbled out what I think this should be. Hopefully you can make sense of my scrawling.

@gerryhayes one thing to clarify. As drawn, the middle pickup would still be controlled by the master volume, correct? If I want it to be completely independent (so that you can have only the middle pickup as an option), would the left lug of the middle pickup volume pot go straight to the output jack instead of to the master volume pot?

Ah. Sorry. When you said master volume I assumed you wanted it to control everything.

Yep: if you send the output from the middle pickup volume directly to the Jack, it will bypass the other volume and tone controls. 👍

Thanks!! I realized my initial message didn’t make it clear that the middle pickup should be independent.
