I’m struggling to set up my business’s social media presence. I have a Meta Business account, Facebook is working, but when I try to link my Instagram account from Meta Business Suite I get a message saying my Instagram account has restrictions because I didn’t follow “advertising standards or other policies or term.” I got this message immediately after setting up the account before posting anything or having any opportunity to violate anything.
The message also says “You may be able to request a review of the decision in Business Support Home” but when I click on that link I get a screen saying there are no Instagram account issues to resolve. If I go to account status on my Instagram phone app, there’s a red flag under Monetization Status saying I need to “Establish Presence” in order to “use Monetization or Promotional tools.” I’ve requested a review, but heard nothing back.
I’m sure the restriction was applied by some bot that was doing what it was told, but it’s infuriating that Meta has no human being one can access to trouble shoot such #$%^&*. I have spent a stupid amount of time trying to figure this out, hired a marketing firm (they gave up), and am just about to give up myself.
Any Instagram gurus out there???

That’s annoying! I’m sure it’ll be fine to not have them linked. I changed my settings so that only some of my IG posts are also posted to FB. My FB posts are aimed for local people and my IG posts are geared to my IG people (mostly looths lol).
