I’ve heard a Facebook page can do more good than a business website for bringing in business. I’ll spare everyone my feelings about Facebook but needless to say, I’m not on it.

You can’t have a Facebook business page without a personal page. I’ve thought about a simple alias just to create a business page but, it will be yet one more thing to take care of and post to. Probably not that hard but, I can’t stand Facebook.

Curious to hear thoughts on this topic.

    Thank you in advance.

If you focus on building a LOCAL audience, it a great venue for growing a business. 12 years ago, I set up the page, ran ads to get “likes” in my local area, and posted pics of everything I worked on. it worked. I think the website is good too, but your local audience respond well to the cool photos (and now videos) you post. I notice a solid bump in business after around 1000 followers.

<div>It might depend on how old your customers are. Gen X and some Millennials use Facebook. Gen Z and younger generally do not. Instagram tends to be cross-generational.
If you go the Facebook route, yeah, you should make a page, and that means having a personal account. You could just make a personal account for your business to get around that. You do loose some of the functionality of a page though, if that’s important to you.

For me, a Google business listing was what brought me a meaningful amount of business. When people search “guitar repair near me” – you want to be at or near the top. And that’s where a business listing comes in.

I find my Google site really useful. You can make a business FB page and just use the personal FB for the purpose of having the business page, ignoring the personal fb page basically.

I’ve never had a website. Didn’t see the need.

I have a website and at one time I had both a Facebook Personal Page and a Business Page. It got to be too much to maintain, I would miss messages on the Business Page, etc. I ditched the Business Page and now I do all my business on my FB personal page. I would guess 60% of my appointments are made on Facebook messenger. But I have one rule and I stick to it. My Personal Facebook page is for business only.

I have a variety of social media pages including a website, Google business page, and Facebook business page. It is silly that Facebook requires you to have a personal page along with a business page, I use the business page 99% of the time. It’s worth having in my opinion, I’ve definitely gotten leads through my FB page but I don’t have a huge following there. Facebook Groups are really where I’ve seen the most engagement on that platform. My overall feeling is that I want my customers to be able to find me wherever they may be, if you’re missing any of these platforms, you’re missing potential clients.
