Trevor Gore on tucking top braces into linings
I’m reading the Design book of the Gilet/Gore set (2nd Edition) and ran across something that surprised me. Under “Top bracing layout – guidelines” (Section 4.4.8, pp 4-52) Gore writes, “Brace ends that are housed into the linings stiffen the edge of the soundbard considerably and so constrain its mobility. reality check - bridge repair - Epiphone PRO-1 Plus VS
I got this guitar for free hoping to further my skills and experience in guitar repair. I removed the bridge. its not in good shape and I don’t think I can glue it back together with any hope of it holding tension again. I haven’t been able to find a replacement that is of the same shape and dimensions. Epiphone/Gibson is no help. The top of…

Modular Clamp For Acoustic Guitar Repair
So, I made a modular clamp based on the split clamp idea. Started on a prototype about two months ago and finished it. What I was aiming for was a clamp that I could use on the BOTTOM of acoustic guitars as well as tops to clamp cracks, cleats, braces, patches etc. Especially a clamp that would access small openings like “F” holes, small…

I’ve used thin plywood slats forever in my go bar deck, but I think I’m ready to try fiberglass bars. What’s the consensus on a good source for these? Also for some reason, I seem to remember seeing someone using fiberglass slats. Maybe they were manufactured for sail stays? As in on a sailboat. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
