Looth world Map
Is it possible to view the Looth Map if you are not a member?- I was going to post the link to the map but not sure I can to non members.
If not id suggest making the map viewable to all-
I would counter that not all members want the attention of being on a public map. I, myself, am in this for myself. I don’t run a business, and I have no desire to be contacted by people thinking that I can do repairs for them.
Maybe a public map could be created for members to opt in to.

Card payment systems
Hi all,
Anyone have recommendations for card payment systems? At the moment, I only take cash or venmo, but would like to be able to accept credit/debit payments as well.

I use Square. Free app, you can tap pay from your smartphone. They take 3.75% at the point of sale. Working great for my shop in its small capacity.

Hi Chad. I use a payment system through my GoDaddy website. I can take payments in person with any cards or Apple and Google pay. I collect card and electronic payments with my cell phone, and can even tap-to-pay on my phone! You can send secure pay links to your customers via email or text and then it’s automatically deposited into your bank…

A while back I saw a Canna Guitars video on Instagram and thought his use of the “wave” scarf joint between his neck and headstock was an interesting use of CNC. But it got me thinking about other options, and this idea percolated in my brain:
Cut a regular scarf joint, but then using a CNC cut a tenon into the neck, and a mortise/dado into the…

Hello. I am interested in the luthiers opinions about using Osmo oil as a finish on acoustic guitars? Advantages vs disadvantages. I am a new builder with small home workshop, mostly using hand tools to build my first acoustic guitar, an OM pre war style. Thank you all.

Camera set up
Happy New Year! I’m looking for advice on camera set ups for joining various Looth Group activities. Are there better options than IPad/laptop? What’s the best way to be able to switch to close ups? Hardware recommendations? Thanks for any advice!

I like laptop/desktop. There is just a fuller zoom experience. Sometimes with ipads screen shares can get lost when users are spotlit.

Thanks. When some of our senior members are demonstrating detail work, they seem to use a separate camera that can focus in close up. What do they use for that?

Free 3d printed stuff up for grabs
Santa heard I had a challenging year so he got me a 3d printer for Christmas. I’ve been printing like crazy, learning the machine. This has resulted in a bunch of tools that either don’t work for me, were attempts at mixing colors, or have very minor printing blemishes. Two lots up for grabs to anyone in the US who wants either. I’ll mail to…
