MemberJuly 31, 2024 at 2:02 pm in reply to: Wax warmer for hide glueFantastic! Super helpful. I will be investing in a 3D printer in the not too distant future so thanks for sharing that with me. I will have to order one of these today. Have you used this to do any pick up potting as well? Is the secondary pot deep enough to place a larger mason jar with wax into it?

There are one or 2 videos reviewing it. Im pretty sure Andrew Klein who does work for magswitch posted a video about it or similar product. It did not handle chips from a forstner bit well if i remember correctly. Worth looking for the videos. You can make effective dust/chip collection for your drill press for $10-$15 and about 30 minutes of your time too.

MemberAugust 29, 2024 at 12:04 pm in reply to: Wax warmer for hide glueAwesome, thanks. I’ll give PLA a whirl. Going to order this sun pal + and the Bambu lab pets hf and see how they are. My printer comes today so I need to order those rolls stat because I am pretty sure I will blow through the current one I have making test zero clearance inserts for my band saw and some other non sense haha

MemberAugust 27, 2024 at 5:10 pm in reply to: Wax warmer for hide glueOrdered a 3d printer athat will be here in a couple days. It’s a bed slinger and open frame so I only really have the ability to work with PLA and PETG and can use the carbon fiber variants of those as well. Was curious what kind of filament you used for that lid. I think PETG CF should be able to handle the temps of the wax warmer but just curious what you had used. Thanks!

MemberJuly 31, 2024 at 2:10 pm in reply to: Wax warmer for hide glueForgot to hit the reply to your thing before so hopefully you see the below reply as well. I have a bunch of the below glue bottles. I keep fish glue in them currently and they work well for that. But I only get those hot with tap water and haven’t tried them on the hot plate at higher temps.

MemberJuly 31, 2024 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Wax warmer for hide glueIf I buy 2 of the, one I will leave for just wax. I wouldn’t want the double cause of size on my bench. I have a stupidly small space and I don’t have another surface to keep the pot at currently. But I am fine with having 2 units and dedicate them to different tasks.

MemberJuly 31, 2024 at 3:20 pm in reply to: Wax warmer for hide glueI don’t want to have to deal with cleaning the wax from the pot when using it for glue, but I could just buy 2 of them and have one dedicated to each job at their price point.
