I designed that caul set and had Andy make a few sets for our shop and for students of our fretting classes.
After being frustrated with the gaps between “standard spec” cauls vs real world variations that don’t fall in line with round numbers, I did the math to come up with a series of cauls to deliver .001”-.0015” increments in the center of the arc. This is a tight enough gap that when allowing for the slight bit of tilt most fret press cauls will have when pressing a tighter radius, you effectively end up with a continuous array with no gaps in between cauls.
It’s nice to see he’s offering them in a presentable storage box now.
I tried to post a straight copy of a the file, but did not see a way to upload files other than photos to the forum here.
I’m fine if the version on Google Sheets gets messed up, it’s just copied and pasted there from the Excel file on my desktop. If there’s a way I missed to upload the file here directly, let me know and I’ll try that.
