I’ve recently got into 3D printing. and Cnc as well. I think one of the biggest hurdles to get over is figuring out which software and mastering it first before you decide which machine to get. I have a Bambu A1 and love it. it’s nice to be able to dabble with it as Im also learning the Cnc. I purchased the Genmitzu from Saintmart. https://www.sainsmart.com/products/3020-pro-ultra. to experiment with and figure some things out before I go with a large Cnc machine. At the recommendation of one of my teachers I’ll be getting the Laguna IQ Pro. You will find that a small Gantry is going o be limiting to what’s possible with operating like carving the heels on acoustic guitars. <font face=”inherit”> Check Frettie Mercury (Tom Dalia) on IG he gives classes on the CAD software. Tom </font>teaches<font face=”inherit”> Rhino CAD. Take one of his classes before you get a machine as it takes awhile to learn the software. Tom offers tutoring as well. </font>

I use a variety of pore fillers. Zpoxy, gluboost blue bottle or recently I started utilizing shellac and pumice when doing French polish. I have never had great luck with Auqacoat. It’s funny opinions are all over the map on Aquacoat. You either love it or hate.

1. Zpoxy does wonders for popping grain and figure an adds a slightly darker tint.

2. Gluboost I love because it really fits into my OCD no patience sensibilities. I can pore fill and start sanding in 30 seconds flat.

3. Shellac with pumice seems to work wonders however I’ve only used it for a short time and don’t have much to say about it other then I really like it.

I find that I get better results, meaning less springback if I let the sides sit in the fox style bender overnight. Also side splints can help as well.

I am a beginner at 3D printing and purchased the A1 combo. I’ve been happy so far and the price point was nice. Although the biggest expense has been all the colorful options with filament. I would recommend just going with the basic Bambu filament if you do get the A1 combo as it automatically registers the color and type of filament is on the spool. Theres a bit off learning curve but not too hard.
