| Job Description | Sole Proprietor: Building, Repairs, Sales, Website Design & Management, Etc… Body Dept. (Responsible for thickness sanding sides, laser cutting side profiles, bending, blocking, kerfing, and bowl sanding before sending over to get boxed up.), & Binding Dept. (Responsible for prepping, binding, and sanding to send over the body for neck sets). Primarily Binding Dept. (Responsible for bringing through all necessary steps before going to finish), Side Bending, Binding & Purfling Inventory. Approximately 10 – 12 guitars per week. I worked on 100% of the batch in the Body Dept. and 90 – 95% in the Binding Dept. weekly. Website Management & Refinement, Inventory Management. Primarily Binding Dept. (Responsible for bringing through all necessary steps before going to finish), Side Bending, Binding & Purfling Inventory. Our department had approximately 10 – 12 guitars per week. I worked on about 50 – 60% of the batch weekly. Luthier/Shop Tech: Setup & Repair on Orchestral Stringed Instruments (Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Basses). From entry level to high-end. Assemble Luthier Tools, such as the Juzek, and Ibex tools (Peg Shavers, Deep Throat Calipers, F-hole Clamps, Etc…). Along with the ever popular Tear Drop Bending Irons (Specially drilled and tapped the StewMac specific ones). Fretted Musical Instrument Sales & Repairs. Absolutely my favorite job, I need to give Kevin Crossett (Now Retired – Owner of GuitarSam) special thanks for taking me in at 19 and introducing me to the incredible world of Lutherie. Without Kevin, I would never have found my passion or ever built a musical instrument. |
