• I’ve a question about detail and cleaning that I suppose applies to both new builds and restoration.

      I used to use a full buffing arbor – one of stewmac’s old ones that you could drop on the freeway and not hurt – but for awhile now I’ve used a buffing pad and Meguires for a good result… lacquer finish… sometimes french polish.

      My question is How do you guys clean up the nooks and crannies from the residue? Water doesn’t do it. Soap leaves it’s own residue. Naptha works ok, but there always seems to be some kind of residue or marks that mar the perfection of a buffing job… drives me nuts!
