I’ve a question about detail and cleaning that I suppose applies to both new builds and restoration.
I used to use a full buffing arbor – one of stewmac’s old ones that you could drop on the freeway and not hurt – but for awhile now I’ve used a buffing pad and Meguires for a good result… lacquer finish… sometimes french polish.
My question…

Have you tried a really fine polishing compound ? Like #9 Meguires ?

Hey all. I’ve used zpoxy quite a lot as a sealer both on open grain hardwoods, and soft woods to give it a bit of surface hardness. *Very* thin coats. Usually 3.
To combat any adhesion issues I’ve used a washcoat of shellac, before a clearcoat of lacquer or French polish. The disadvantage is how long each coat takes to cure.
