I went out and bought a set of allen style torx wrenches. i got one to seat really snugly with some taps of a hammer. No luck turning. Tapped in an EZ out. got that bad boy gripping real good. Verdict is, this thing is seized up real good. I had already sprayed a dash of penetrating oil in there the other day.

Here I made it half way through and it failed even quicker.
This is so frustrating. I thought I was through with this tinkering crap. Or at least I could go 6 months before anything.
Well the extruder is all spick and span. All I can guess is to try a new hot end?
What else can I look at?

No I haven’t tried anything with the extruder yet. Haven’t dove into that part of the machine yet. Uncharted waters. What should I look for?
This filament is fresh out of the package from Bambu. Impossible to be fucked up
-
I cleared the nozzle l again today. Disconnected it. Heated it. Poped the filament out with a needle. And pushed the excess through with an Allen key.
This bench started great. Then went to shit pretty quick.

What direction have you moved to?

That’s weird…

This is really cool. I can’t imagine it being long before this is offered in regular slicers. I was thinking about a similar idea the other day where every other layer in perimeters goes cross grain. Lots of little zig zags. Might not look great on the outside. But not all prints are about being pretty. Especially guitar tool prints

Ok i believe i have diagnosed the two fold problem. First, in my research this moring i stumbled upon some interesting information. I had the hot end taken apart yesterday to clesn it out. i did NOT put it back together correctly. I didnt push the bowden tube down enough and it was far from seated properely on the nozzle. That was a recipe for destruction.
The other problem is the extruder. Not entirely sure what it is but i did find that when i give the lever a little hand tension it works fine. So i pulled the spring out and streched it a bit. Its almost done with a whole test print now. Looking pretty fine (one wall isnt adhered good. whats up with that? cooling problem?) I ended up placing an order for some goodies. An EZ out to take out the set screw that is stripped and holding on the extruder wheel, and a micro-swiss bowden dual gear extruder. that should really fix things on that end. I hate when something goes haywire with this thing. But i have the drive to fix it. from what the internet says, seems like most people let it sit around a few months before they deal with it.

I like this! Thought about doing something similar already. Doesn’t really solve the Trussrod issues tho.
Dove in trying to Crank it the other direction yesterday, with no luck. Good idea tho.
-
I thought about exactly this last night. I have been mainly trying to add relief to the neck this entire time. I have tried to move the truss rod both ways , but mainly trying to loosen. I would say its a good idea to put some effort trying to turn it the other way, but i need a way to get some GRIP on it.
I Do like the problem solving and i don’t like being defeated. This would be the first unaccomplished repair

Said a well regarded professional. Ok well. Cant said i didnt try. Thanks for the help
-
Good points. It is a customer guitar. He likes it but says he has little emotional attachment to it.
-
no. heat it with a soldering iron and then the EZ out again? What are the chances of the hex nut coming off and being able to be replaced?
-
No, i slowly gave more and more elbow grease and nothing. The neck was coming out of the vise. but no turning.
-
Thats a great idea! i have a set of Ez outs
-
I am not one of the Rich looths
-
I was thinking about making a custom wrench. will probly give this a go. Maybe even give a slight hollow grind to each surface so those corners BITE
-
Bambu said to swap there hot end. Luckly i had one from when i bought it. It seemed to do the trick. Pretty pissed off my month and a half old printer needed a hot end swap.
-
Thanks @ianhatesguitars . this is really helpful. I will try some of this and see what happen s. and i will contact the company. very annoying
-
This IS the trying another roll. Third roll trying.
Just using bambu slicer. And for this benchy i am printing it from the stock filer on the sd card. What is the calibration?
-
Nope Just basic black PLA from Bambu
-
Just took the entire thing apart. Pretty damn clean in there. Have the extruder teeth a clean with a wire brush just to be sure. All put back together. Gonna try another benchy. Please submit new suggestions now.
-
@ianhatesguitars it doesnt seem like it. I had the same thought. It’s just basic pla from Bambu labs.
-
But it is possible it’s similar to your problem. Because this flat part printed ok. But then the taller parts spaghettied after a certain point
-
Wow, how is that possible? You mean one of the 3?
I will check that tomorrow. Can you describe what to look for?
I think it’s an extrusion thing with mine tho. The filament isn’t coming out right.
