You have the right to sell it after making a good faith effort to make them pay. I usually send an invoice with a sternly worded letter via certified mail with a return receipt. If they make no move to get it after that, it goes on the hanger and I sell for the repair bill.

Loose wires in acoustic: gather them up with wire ties so you can’t hear them when you shake the guitar.
I just about pulled my hair out chasing a light rattle in an ES-175 just to find an extra pickup spring stuck to the under side of the neck pickup.
Basically tighten any Loose nut/bolt/screw that is Loose (banjos are the worst for this)
Truss rod improperly installed and sympathetically vibrating inside the neck regardless of tightness: replace or figure out a way to get some caulk in there
