going to give this a try today! I’ve been dragging my feet on designing bins for months now…

not much feedback here other than, I like it.

I’ve been really happy with every purchase I’ve made from Taylor Toolworks (Japanese handsaws and Narex Richter chisels). The shipping was fast and reasonable and they are locally owned family business.

I’m in a similar boat. I also have some heath concerns that can sometimes limit me after a full day of work where just getting out to the shop seems like too much. My approach is to try and make progress every day, no matter how small a step it ends up being as long as it’s forward momentum. I save the bigger tasks for days off and weekends when I have the time and energy. And I count forward momentum as just about anything related to the goal. Things as simple as researching a topic, going through the archives of the Loothgroup, getting to the hardware store to buy the right washers I need, working on CAD projects, or sweeping up all count as progress for me. It doesn’t have to be dimensioning material, gluing up, or shaping a neck. Progress and movement forward is my only measure of success. My wife and I call it slow living, I don’t know if the term really makes sense here, but at the end of the day before bed, if there was progress I’m happy. And some days there just isn’t progress, life gets in the way. That’s fine too, I just try and make some progress the next day.
For me this approach is motivating as the progress starts to add up and things start to come together eventually.

I’m rocking the Chris Schwarz “Sharpen This” method and it’s been great but I’m 99% sure I’ll end up with a Tormek sooner or later. So I’ve got Shapton 1000, 5000, and 8000 waterstones, a DMT lapping plate, the Lie Nielsen honing guide, a boot tray with a hardboard liner, and a pump sprayer. I started out with the 1000 stone and an eclipse honing guide and slowly added everything else.
I also sometimes do the scary sharp sandpaper thing. I’m kind of thinking about doing that more because I still find myself dragging my feet with the waterstones for all kinds of reasons, even though they’re quick and easy.
I’ve come close to trying out Ken Parker’s method which I think looks awesome, but the investment of trying it is too much especially considering I might not like it.

Stock response from Bambu about bed temps, brims, etc with a link to their wiki. I’m not going to pursue it but I’m also not going to use this plate anymore. It seemed like a consumable part the second I touched it and it’s performance has degraded since then, especially in the last 3 prints, each one worse than the prior. Anywho, could just be me but this plate no longer sparks joy.

I bought one board from this guy for the lute I’m working on and it has been great.

I had also been checking out this one before I bought from the first one, but it’s a little hard to find the right thing (online at least).

PacificRim also has some things

Oh and there’s also this, you’ve probably come across them, I find their prices to be prices for sure.

Thanks, I think that’s going to be the way I go from now on. Lesson learned here. I’m probably going to just reprint this thing in PLA for now. The pvc primer worked great on the test piece, but it’s going to be tricky to actually use with this print.

Thank you! I should have already had the Somogyi book, but me and Stewmac had a “disagreement” earlier this year. I never even thought about the Benedetto book! Very helpful, thanks again.

Thanks Ian, seems to be working now!

@ianhatesguitars I’m running into the same issue but didn’t want to start a new thread. Photos and location saved, but names and profile items won’t for some reason. I’ve tried different browsers, disabled extensions etc and still not saving.
