FWIW i have been building for around 15 years, been making full guitars for about 11. over 200 guitars out there with my name on them &………

are they all 100% perfect? NO!

would i sell something that doesnt play well & will bite me in the ass later…NO

Am i my worse enemy when it comes to quality control? YES!

    This is all that matters.

Just do the best you can & the more you do it the better you get. never turn your head when meeting other people in the business as this is & always will be a learning process. you will never be perfect.

My fretboards are done with a table saw & correct SM blade, if i need to touch them up after radius i go between the jap saw & regular one sm sells. yellow wax to stop them from sticking when cutting & naptha to clean after will make the saws last longer. as far as width i use SM & jescar wire & never had issues. i will say i bought wire from All Parts once & it was garbage as it was to wide. Your jap saw should work for most wire

if you can see the tangs from the side they are not flush, its better to saw little to deep as the glue will fill the void….

They both equally suck…only good thing is they will replace them when they dull… i make a good 3-4 guitars a month & although i use a table saw blade to slot I need the hand saw to adjust after radius so they go dull pretty quick & both dull about the same. get the cheaper one if you have to choose…

I had this issue with ALL Parts wire, i bought like 3 lbs of the stuff and ended up throwing most of it away. never had any issues with stew mac or jescar & promised myself never to buy anything else.

It bothers me Gibson would even let that happen considering the money they charge for thier guitars!

HI I use a 2 inch spiral as well. after i cut out the trace off my template & also use a spindle sander to get even closer to the line & after attaching the template i spindle a little more carefully not touching the template…i also want to mention have your spiral bit sharpened after around lets say 15-20 bodies . i have 2 so when i drop off one bit i have the other to use until i get it back, hope this helps.
