    I too have my first backstrap repair lined up, on demo-stamped SG – so I want to test the same approach.

    Did you reach a solution yet KT? I have a similar issue with the same guitar, although my damage is midway down the neck.

    I may start experimenting with ideas this weekend in my attempt to avoid refinishing the whole neck so keen to see/hear what you decided
