Everything finally turned out well. I was able to remove the truss rod relatively easily. I clamped the neck to make the truss rod channel as straight as possible, and with a few taps from the other end, it came out. I had a new truss rod made, installed it, crafted a new piece out of maple, added a bit of color to the wood to match the rest of the neck, and then used CA glue to level it with the lacquer.Thanks for the help!

Again, sorry if I insist on this, but living in Argentina is not easy to have access to that kind of tools, they are really expensive for our economy right now. But probably in a couple of months.
For this one I decide to try the heel approach! Haha

MemberFebruary 23, 2024 at 6:08 am in reply to: Truss Rod Nut Tight, Still Too Much Neck ReliefI have been working on a couple of Fender and Squier basses in which the point at which the truss rod began to operate was when I had already turned it several times and by the time I reached the end of the thread the neck still had too much relief. In several of these cases I only added a supplement similar to the one that comes with the truss rod rescue (off-set spacer), generally made of bronze. and with that the truss rod started working sooner and the neck reached the desired relief. I left them for a couple of days to see if they maintained that curvature or if they moved again.
