Hi again, also, worth checking if the gap gets bigger under tension. If there is movement, then I would definitely take it all apart. If not then it may be more of a cosmetic repair.

Yes, the dowels were already there. I had to put a taper of rose wood under the fingerboard that is on the body to get an angle back.
When replacing the neck, I also used a screw down into the heel as the dowels, I don’t feel, we’re strong enough on thier own. Especially as the client wanted 12 gauge strings. The truss rod had been broken previously when others tried to straighten the neck.
There are people on this site who have far more experience of acoustics than I do. I was expecting a proper joint, the dowels were a surprise, so I don’t know what is on your guitar. I used an electric soldering iron with thick gauge copper wire wrapped around it and drill a hole into the neck to insert it. Patients was needed but once hot enough, it came apart quite easily.
I think some one suggested on a previous post to you that filling with glue is a 50/50 option. Personally, I would take it all apart and make a proper job of it…

Hi Brian, I have just restored a Harmony acoustic. Have a look at this video I made as it shows the neck off. Not a standard thing… https://youtu.be/_mvvgV8FjLA
Hope this helps. let me know…
