That Definitely needs a Re-glue. My method is to always scribe the bridge with a sharp xacto blade before removal and “pocket” or recess the bridge slightly into the top by removing any finish that had extended under the bridge when it was first put on. I use a Dremel 115 bit and a chisel to get a fresh flat gluing surface, then sand the bottom of the bridge to make contact all across the new surface. then just titebond 1 with 3 bridge clamps and good glue cleanup practice. (titebond is water soluble if you don’t get it all). I also wait 2 DAYS before applying string tension to anything that I use wood glue on. also don’t forget to put a piece of tape under the bridge pin holes so you don’t get glue inside the instrument.

  • Looks like you solved your own question but for future reference I save strap jack outside covers, you can thread them on to the pot upside down and they work as a cup to hold your cleaning solution and let it gradually creep down the shaft.

If it’s $2500 or less I always use usps. They have the best rates by quite a lot unless you have a negotiated rate with another shipper.

Pirate Ship makes it pretty easy to get the best discount for shipping.

Make sure your custom forms are correct and it’s fully insured and it should be a pretty painless transaction.

they do have a maximum box size to ship and 50 x 20 x 9 is right on the cusp so go with a bit smaller if possible otherwise you’ll have to re pack or use a different carrier.

wow, thanks so much for taking the time making such a long well thought out reply. I really appreciate all the help with this. the repairs aspect is just part of life at this point and there aren’t as many hurdles, but the business owner part is a whole new world so this helps so much. I’ll be putting all of these into use promptly!

I do have one but until this month I was appt only with no listed hours. It’s been updated with new location, hours, pictures. there are around 15 5star reviews as well. I’ve also started a google ad campaign.

Craigslist seems to have slowed down in the recent years since FB marketplace gained traction, But the Facebook group idea is certainly a suggestion I will put to work asap!
