Card payment systems
Hi all,
Anyone have recommendations for card payment systems? At the moment, I only take cash or venmo, but would like to be able to accept credit/debit payments as well.

I use Square. Free app, you can tap pay from your smartphone. They take 3.75% at the point of sale. Working great for my shop in its small capacity.

@patreon_14839057 I second this. We use square at our shop and on the road at shows. It’s just easy and works.

Hi Chad. I use a payment system through my GoDaddy website. I can take payments in person with any cards or Apple and Google pay. I collect card and electronic payments with my cell phone, and can even tap-to-pay on my phone! You can send secure pay links to your customers via email or text and then it’s automatically deposited into your bank account. There is a small transaction fee of less than 2%. You can opt for immediate payout but they take a higher percentage. If you have a website, check to see if the provider has a feature like this.

Hey Chad – I use Wave Apps for my accounting software and there’s a free subscription tier that includes the ability to collect payments from customers for invoices via ACH at 1% processing or credit cards at 2.9%. I also use Stripe tap to pay with my phone for in person payments 2.7% + 15 cents per transaction. Setup was pretty easy on both and both have mobile apps.

I’ve been using Wave for the last 6 years – my clients like how easy it is to pay and I like the free accounting functionality for sales tax and EOY reporting. .

Square. Love it. Raised my overall rates to accommodate the fees so that I never felt a financial hit from using Square. I view fees for services like square as a utility, like water/electricity/internet.

I use square. No complaints. But cash is king. Lol

I’ll take money any way I can get it :), but I primarily use square for online payments and for point of sale. We have a couple of payment options (online apple pay) that require a stripe account so we have all these options: Square, Stripe, Paypal. Some people like paying us paypal online so their wives don’t know about it. LOL. We use ours with an invoicing software so It keeps everything organized.

Another vote for Square here. Super easy and reliable.

Another reason I like square, is I utilize their savings accounts. I have three accounts and have percentages of every transaction auto deposited to those accounts. 1) Taxes, 2) Savings, 3)Supplies and parts.
