This is my no-drill pinless K&K bridge pickup installing jig. An exercise in taking the long way around and avoiding trypophobia.
I had a Breedlove with a pinless bridge come in for a K&K mini pickup install recently.
Not wanting to drill holes through the bridge for placement registration I made this placement jig.
This was specifically made to fit a Breedlove Discovery Dread but have included the Onshape link and with a few adjustments, you should be able edit the file to adjust length and angles to fit other models.
I’ve included a few pictures of how I measured the X-brace angles and distance to the bridge.
There are four files included. One with three pickup holding prongs install all pickup discs at one time. And three additional files with one prong each to install them one by one for a less risky install.
Use the putty that comes with the K&K pickups like you normally would to adhere the pickups to the jig.
If movement becomes an issue you can wrap the pickup wire to the prong arm with a small amount of tape and carefully remove it after installation.
If you have any questions feel free to message me.
Thanks for looking. Maybe someday you get some use out of it. 🙂
