Polyester chip ‘n crack fixes

What is the best way to fix chips and cracks that occur in a tinted transparent polyester finish? The substrate is a figured maple top, but the cracks also extend to the back that’s been finished in black. I’ve watched lots of videos and gotten some good advice from the group so far, but wondering there is a “definitive” method. I’ve struggled a lot with this in the past and haven’t seemed to get it right (i.e., made things worse).

The pictures are before and after shots where I “troughed” out the chipped/cracked regions. Part of the challenge will be getting the color just right. My plan is to gradually build up with tinted Gluboost Fill ‘n Finish (black Gluboost on the side), then do a couple of coats of untinted Gluboost.

Thanks Elders!
