Fixing recurring build problems
Just looking for some jawboning regarding fixing weak spots in the build process.
I am really happy with the guitars I’m making overall, particularly sound wise, but I keep effing up certain things repeatedly. I have done a lot of thought about how to fix the problems (mainly binding and side bending issues, in particular around the cutaways on the Selmer guitars I’m making) and I think I will probably improve on the next builds but it is hard to work on something for 3 months and then realize you sanded through the side because your cutaway bend isn’t perfect.
Rather than discuss my specific issues, I’d really appreciate just a discussion of how people have gone about working through quality control problems of their own. And maybe talking about deciding when to keep something imperfect in the guitar in the desire to finish an instrument and learn vs going back and fixing it and/or torching the guitar.
