Yes! I’m thinking straightening twisted necks. Lady brought in a 40 yr. old Santa Cruz which has a severly twisted neck. She’s been on a waiting list with them for months to look at the guitar. I’m goona experiment with this. Remove all finish and fingerboard for steam penatration, and build an adjustable metal jig. Stick the thing in a steambox. See what happens. If shipwrights can configure large lumber, and looths can accuratley steam sides, seems to me we should be able to accrurately re-align a neck? So far, using steam in lesser fashion has worked. 90% of my work involves 6% humidity turning wood into pretzles. I’m learning that many manufactures of new instruments null the warranties if extreme humidty is involved. Almost every new guitar coming in is effected by extreme humidity. Necks being the hardest fixes by far.
